4am. The jet-lag kicked in and the four of us were wide awake. Got a couple more hours sleep and had a leisurely breakfast in the hotel. CB and SP went to pick up the car. SP almost destroys the car within the first mile in a game of chicken with a BMW, SP proclaims "...that must have been my right of way".

Drove to the North Shore. 1st glimpse of waves driving past Laniakea - double overhead clean!

Arrived at our house, it's right opposite Marijuana's and Alligator Rock, which was breaking at around 6ft.

Drove to Pipeline via Waimea, which wasn't breaking. Pipe was 3 times overhead and is very very heavy. Jamie O'brien made a left had tube, everyone on the beach was mental, particularly the 4 taffies.

Wind picked up, went to Log Cabins and Rockpiles. DT surfed Rockpiles on his new 6'3". Very nasty beach/reef break. DT seriously under-gunned, but nevertheless made 4 or 5 waves - top effort.
